Poker Flat’s Simon Flower carries on this blissful theme with his floating remix, while Rob’s is more akin to drowning! Kerretta blow the whole thing out of the water with an amazingly indescribable remix – labels like “post rock” and “shoegaze” don’t do them any justice at all, while sublime, stunning and cinematic possibly do. Neon Stereo takes us out onto the dancefloor with some tight tech house grooves and Johhny Hooves keeps us there by dropping Bukem style atmospheric drum’n’bass. Subtone gets us back on track with his techstep mix of taut beats and restrained funk, and Heavyweight Dub Champion’s Patch’s bass laden beats prepare the ground nicely for psy star Bluetech’s electro dub version of South of the Line.

After a steady stream of releases on the Waveform, Aleph Zero, Thoughtless Music and Somnia labels over the last 7 years, the next phase of Bluetechs sonic trajectory plots new and intrepid. England’s Mistrust adds breaks to the mix, which Fold and Horace then throw into the blender with their dubstep meets drum’n’bass reduction of Bird Soul. Love Songs To The Source is the name of the latest album from the adept and on-the-move producer/remixer Bluetech (aka Evan Bartholomew & Evan Marc). The compilation kicks off with two heavily dubwise numbers from former Thomspon Twin, International Observer, and Melbourne’s deadly duo, Deep Fried Dub. Once again the distinctive DiN label is pushing the boundaries of it’s established catalogue with a new addition to it’s roster of fine, internationally acclaimed electronic artists.Rhythm, Sound and Movement is a collection of remixes of tracks from Pitch Black’s Rude Mechanicals album, which, reflecting the duo’s wide ranging tastes and styles, encompasses nearly every genre of electronica and dance music there is. Evan has also got a track, “Magnetic Lullaby”, on the DiN sub-label compilation Tone Science Module No.2 Elements and Particles (DiN:TS02). Evan also invited DiN label boss Ian Boddy to perform using his distinctive Ondes Martenot analogue synth keyboard on the track “Tranquility Gate”. These benefit from repeated, deep listening as there are so many details and interlaced patterns that will reveal themselves over time. With a distinct nod to the Berlin School masters of the past he upgrades that musical heritage with nine shimmering soundscapes utilising modern production techniques to create beautiful tapestries of sound. “Liquid Geometries” sees him exploring shifting, fractal landscapes of melodic, sequenced lines using a huge range of analogue modular synthesisers. His music transcends the constructs normally associated with a calculated “electronic artist,” pursuing music with meaning and purpose in various styles like ambient and downtempo, future bass, and techno. Bluetech is a master of analog and modular sound synthesis and DSP audio manipulation, and brings a passion for sound design and cutting edge audio exploration into all the work he touches. He is an internationally recognized touring music producer with over 27 album/EP releases in the last 15+ years, and has a seasoned portfolio of video game and film/tv scoring credits.
